With the new update of First Data Connect (1.7.0), the team added support for one of the most awaited, and requested integration – The subscription/recurring payments support!
This feature will provide support for the WooCommerce Subscriptions Plugins, subscriptions, and recurring payments for it.
The major requirements to use the new feature are the API Key, and API Secret, you may follow our guide regarding how you can request these to your hosting provider – How to request for your REST API details
After receiving the keys, you will need to add them to the plugin’s settings. Go to WooCommerce >> Settings >> Payments, then add the keys to their respective fields, then click the save button. Like so:
There’s nothing much to change within the settings if you already followed First Data Connect’s setup guide. Upon updating your First Data Connect plugin to 1.7.0, the support for subscription/recurring payments will be automatically activated.
With this new feature, you will be able to see which is a parent’s order, and which one is a recurring payment from the orders list. This will be displayed in the Subscription Relationship column.
For the parent orders, it is labeled as Parent Order when you hover over the icon. :
For the renewals, it will display a clock icon with the Renewal Order tooltip when you hover over it. :
To test this, you may proceed in creating your 1st WooCommerce subscription product by following the steps below:
1.) As soon as you have updated your AG First Data Connect plugin, make sure that you also have WooCommerce Subscriptions installed and activated on your site.
2.) Proceed in adding a new product, set the product as a Simple or a Variable subscription product.
3.) From here, the subscription fields will be displayed. From there, set the subscription price’s parameter to price/every/day, then set the expiration field to 1 day.
This way, you will be able to see how recurring payments will be shown on your orders’ table, on the next day.
