Setting up the Traffic Light System

The team recently added the Traffic Light System feature to our Barclays ePDQ Direct Link plugin, which provides a user-friendly interface that lets merchants check the order’s important fraud data.

Order View:

3D secure pass, other checks also passed.

3D secure pass, other checks failed or had issues.

3D secure pass, other checks passed except for the submitted address which did not match.

3D secure failed, and no data was returned for other checks.

Both 3D secure and CVC (three digits on the back of the card) passed. The address and Postcode did not match.

Order table:

The Traffic Light System consists of the following status checks:

  • Address Check – Checks and provide the status of the submitted Address if it is matched with the card issuer’s records.
  • Postcode Check – Check and provide the status of the submitted Postcode if it is matched with the card issuer’s records.
  • CVC Check – Checks and provide the CVC status of the account.
  • 3D Secure Check – Checks and provide the order’s 3D Secure status

Disabling the Traffic Light System

You can always disable this feature by defining disable_ag_checks. Here’s the complete snippet that you need to add within your theme/child-theme’s function.php file:

You can access the theme’s functions.php file from your:
WordPress dashboard > Appearance > Theme Editor > click the functions.php from the file selection.

Steps to set up the Traffic Light System for ePDQ

1. In the ePDQ back office, proceed to Configuration → Technical Information →  Transaction Feedback.

You’ll need to add these extra parameters:

AAVADDRESS
AAVZIP
CVCCHECK
ECI
AAVCHECK

Please take note that this is in addition to the parameters added based on the setup guide.

3. After adding the parameters mentioned above, head back to your WordPress dashboard, then proceed to WooCommerce >> Setting >> Payments. Click on Manage for the ePDQ Direct Link Checkout settings.

From here, you can now enable the option labeled “Enable AG Fraud Check”.

Note
Please take note that only the new transactions will show the “order checks” once this is set up.
