The AG yearly round up.

Posted in Business

What a year 2015 has been. The second year of We are AG has gone by in a flash, and now that it’s coming to an end and we’re getting ready for hopefully an equally as exciting 2016, I thought it was a good time to reflect on what 2015 brought.

We got a new look!

After a whirlwind first year that seemed to disappear at an alarming rate, I eventually paused to draw breath and decided it was time to give the AG site a bit of TLC, and we got a brand spanking new look! I couldn’t be happier with how the site looks, and how the business has developed over the past 12 months. I’ve been able to really focus on WordPress and WooCommerce, something that has given me immense satisfaction and I feel really improves our service offering, as we can get right into the nitty gritty of custom projects and build up a wealth of knowledge that our wonderful clients can benefit from!

New plugins

2015 has been the year of the plugin. Our top selling plugins this year have been the Barclays ePDQ and the Clothes 2 Order, which have both been incredibly successful and we’ve had some brilliant reviews from happy clients, which of course is what it’s all about!

This really gave us a taste for innovative plugin development, and so we’ve got a few more exciting ones in the pipeline, coming to a WordPress site near you soon…

First up is a new plugin venture currently in development, for which I’ve teamed up with a branding agency in London. This one is going to be aimed at estate agents, and will enable them to use any theme they want and display their properties via the plugin. I have extremely high hopes for this, as I really think the current market offerings are not up to scratch. It will be developer friendly – we love developers! – with built-in hooks and filters. This is going to be launched on a ‘freemium’ model, where the core plugin will be free of charge, but customers can purchase additional features, themes and ‘skins’ – check back in 2016 to find out more…

We are AG… Abroad!

Without doubt one of my personal highlights of 2015 was finally taking the plunge and pursuing my dream of becoming a true ‘digital nomad’. Towards the end of the summer I buckled up, booked a flight to Tarifa Spain and embarked on an exciting journey that would change my mindset forever. With the next trip already scheduled, things are about to get a whole lot sunnier over here, and I’m excited to see how my new excitement, passion and lust for life is reflected in my client relationships and creative endeavours. I think I have proved to myself that a good developer is a happy one, and this developer is happiest with a sea view…

Also coming up on the travel agenda is the WordCamp EU event in Vienna, Austria, which I am very excited about. If any of you are going and would like to meet, give me a shout via Twitter or email and we can arrange a meet-up – it would be fantastic to put some faces to email addresses, as it were!

Finally, our lovely clients

Despite all the sun, new site and exciting developments, what really made 2015 great was you, our clients. Over the past 12 months I have watched the business continue to grow, and it fills me with a sense of huge achievement and pride. It would not have been possibly without the support of all our fantastic clients, both new and returning. So to you I say a massive ‘Thank you’ – I can’t wait to catch up with you all in 2016!
