ECI error codes
What are ECI error codes, and what are they used for?
The ECI error codes are codes that the Lloyds Cardnet Connect returns when something goes wrong with your transaction.
These error codes are helpful to you as the business owner and us the support team when we are debugging a problem. Usually, if we know what the error code means, we will know how to fix it.
Where can I find these error codes?
A) Lloyds Cardnet Backoffice
You can see the error codes if you check your transaction reports.
Navigate from your Lloyds Cardnet Connect BackOffice account > Reports > Transactions > then you’ll have to filter the transactions that you’d want to see.
B) WooCommerce Order notes
The error codes can also be seen from your WooCommerce > Orders > view order screen >order notes.
What are the possible ECI error codes, and what do they mean?

LLOYDS BANK ONLINE PAYMENTS 3dsecure response code: N/A
Transaction will be passed to auth system without any 3dsecure information.
No MC ECI, Visa ECI = 7

Cardholder not enrolled
No MC ECI, Visa ECI = 6

Unable to authenticate (ACS not accessible)
No MC ECI, Visa ECI = 7
- LLOYDS BANK ONLINE PAYMENTS 3dsecure response code: 5
Unable to authenticate (DS not accessible)
No MC ECI, Visa ECI = 7
- LLOYDS BANK ONLINE PAYMENTS 3dsecure response code: 4
Attempt (ACS cannot tell result of authentication)
MC ECI = 1, Visa ECI = 6
- LLOYDS BANK ONLINE PAYMENTS 3dsecure response code: 3
Auth Failure (Signature verification incorrect) – LLOYDS BANK ONLINE PAYMENTS declines the transaction( “N:-5101:3D Secure authentication failed” )
